Discuss what KEMPO does regarding fundraising and how funds are used to enrich the school experience for the children.

Discussion of the following fundraisers for 2012-13

• Toystore/Papa Ginos November 15th
• Movie night #1- November 8th
• Movie night #2-4 - undetermined - ideas from KEMPO attendees are welcome.
• UN Dinner - October 19th - discussed setup and breakdown and requested volunteers.  Also talked about the baskets.

Spoke briefly about doing a Breakfast fundraiser.  Some mention that Saturday morning may not be a good day for it.  Still open to other ideas on timing.

A book sale was suggested as a fundraiser.

Also suggested was a 50/50 funraiser

A suggestion was made for more social events to bring community together.

Discussion of the formal Auction to be held in March.
It was mentioned that we should probably start now if we want to secure donations from larger companies like Disney etc.

Hiring an Auctioneer was decided on by consensus as was selling tickets to the event to cover costs.

A suggestion was made to request services for the event from the parents, DJ, Catering, etc.

Things to do regarding the auction:

• Look into halls for auction
• Look into PayPal for KEMPO
• Start auction a few weeks before the event for people who can't come to event

A spreadsheet, volunteer handout was passed around for volunteers sign up.

KEMPO wants to thank all the parents and children for their contributions of sand to the playground sandbox! We now have plenty of sand for the kids to play with!

Reminder: The UN Dinner will be October 28th from 5:30 to 7:30 at the Chelmsford Senior Center. At the UN Dinner we hold a basket raffle.

Please look for the donation flier in your child's folder this week.

                                             SCHOOL PICNIC

                                       FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 23

                                              FROM 4 to 6 PM

Please join us to celebrate the beginning of this school year with our annual picnic 

at Roby Park, Nashua, NH. Located off of Spit Brook Road.

Please bring your own ‘family picnic’ (entree) and beverage. Also, we ask that you bring 1 side dish to share with a serving utensil (serving 8 to 10).

Here are some suggestions on dishes to share :

Salads, Appetizers, Side Dishes, Desserts, Fruits, Vegetables

We request that each dish be clearly labeled ON THE SERVING CONTAINER (please not on the cover), with the following information:

·       If it is Vegetarian/Non-Vegetarian

·       Ingredients OR Allergens listing (eg: Dairy, Peanuts, Tree Nuts, Sesame, Soy, Wheat, Eggs, Fish, Shellfish).

** We do not have a rain date for this event so we hope that the weather will cooperate!
